Short boilerplate

Smart Health Network is a neutral, public-benefit trust-and-interaction utility for healthcare, built to cut paperwork, not care. It connects the systems health plans, providers and their partners already use, making trust, connection and implementation work reusable instead of rebuilding it relationship by relationship.

Extended boilerplate

Smart Health Network is building shared, neutral infrastructure so people and healthcare organizations can find each other, trust each other and work together. Plans and providers retain their systems and decisions while reusing common connection and testing work.

Prior authorization is the starting point. Delaware is bringing public leadership, plans, providers, DHIN and technology partners together to prepare for January 2027 and share what other markets can reuse. Current testing uses synthetic data. On October 8, 2026, SHN published Version 1.0 of its Network Rules and Participation Agreement, establishing Open Access economics and participant protections in contractual form.

Smart Health Network PBC operates with a public-benefit purpose, independent stewardship, patient-rights protection and participant input. Designated Open Access exchange carries no SHN participation, network-access, transaction or required Gateway-software-license fee. Optional services are separate purchases and never a condition of included exchange.
